So much potential...shaded sites, quiet stream. And then there was the nasty lady who runs the place and the trashy appearance of the campground itself. When we arrived there was one other camper already there. We were placed right next to them - no option for moving to a more secluded site. Owner/host never got out of her chair when we arrived. Never a friendly wave or 'hello'. Just give me your money - park over there. Campsite wasn't very level, filled with trash and cigarette butts. There was even a sign at the office encouraging campers to burn trash in the campfire. A bit of traffic noise but the deal breaker was the trash and host. We won't be back.

This is perhaps my favorite campground (close to me). Very peaceful and relaxing. Heavily treed. We camp on the outer side of the electric loop and can't see the bathhouse in the center of the loop due to the trees. Very quiet. Pet friendly but I've never seen any running loose. Toilets and showers cleaned daily but they may get dirty during the day. I've never found this to be an issue. Nice trails to walk and decent fishing/kayaking nearby. I wish they stayed open all year.

We've stayed in Miles, Chester, and Northeast Loops. Most recently Miles loop (no pets) right on the bluff overlooking the river. Wonderful site. No services (water available) but a nice relaxing weekend. Chester loop (water/electric) tends to be crowed - especially in the summer. Northeast (water/electric/pets) not quite so crowded as the sites are more openly spaced. Still a very pleasant state park and one of the few in Maryland open year round (some loops). All three loops have typical, mostly clean, showers and toilets.

Nice and quiet this time of year. Only 3 others in the D loop (Only 2 loops open). Only DE state park open all year, I think. Very nice 3 mile trail around the pond; well maintained. Not sure I'd stay there in the summer as the camp host indicated that after 15 May it begins to get crowded and the sites were rather close together. I'd definitely go back in the winter.

We have stayed at Pine Grove many, many times. Heavily treed although the sites are not secluded, but they are large. Lots of animals and lots of quiet in the off-season. I hate to see them close for the 'winter'. Just in the process of opening a large new tent area.

Nice, shady campground. Somewhat steep access road to the upper level sites but not a problem. Clean, tiled bathrooms. Sites relatively level but not perfect. Picnic table, fire ring.

Excellent bathroom facilities. Sites could be just a bit more level. Some were concrete pads. Some just stone. Steep access road but well maintained. Check with campground owner for WiFi access password.

Cleanest restrooms I've ever seen. Nothing to do but sit, read and relax. Excellent!

Nice small Forest Service facility. Centrally located water spigots. Bring hose. Bring bug spray - mosquitoes are present. Right on the Inland Waterway with boat launching ramp.
